Submitting Proof of Unemployment and Receiving a Discount at Vantaa Adult Education Institute
Unemployment can be verified in four different ways.
Employment services were transferred to municipalities at the beginning of 2025. This change has affected the process of obtaining a document verifying the validity of a job search. Currently, employment services customers cannot print a certificate of active job search directly from the system. System development is ongoing, with the goal of restoring a print option similar to the previous one.
During the development phase, unemployment status can be verified at Vantaa Adult Education Institute using one of the following four documents:
- The most recent unemployment benefit payment slip
- A decision letter regarding unemployment benefits
- A certificate of active job search status printed by your employment officer (previously printable by the customer)

Submit one of these four documents to the Vantaa Adult Education Institute if you want to receive an unemployment discount. Send the certificate as an attachment to the address aikuisopisto@vantaa.fi or bring it to the office of the Vantaa Adult Education Institute. Please submit the certificate of unemployment to the Vantaa Adult Education Institute not later than by the day when the course starts. After the course has started, no discount will be granted.
