Do you want to complete basic education? Apply now for adult basic education

News

In Vantaa, basic adult education will be organised only at the Vantaa Adult Education Centre from August 2025. The application period for autumn training is 14 February - 2 April. There are many different ways to study in basic adult education.

Basic education for adult immigrants

Basic education for adult immigrants is basic education aimed at 17–35-year-olds. You can study in basic education for adults if you have not attended school in your own country or in Finland, or if you have not yet completed school.

Studies progress according to an individual study plan, usually taking 3–5 years. Students have the opportunity to receive a basic education leaving certificate by completing the entire basic education curriculum or parts of it, depending on how much the student already knows.

The studies are full-time. There are approximately 25 hours of study per week from Monday to Friday. The education is organized in accordance with the Finnish National Board of Education's curriculum principles for basic adult education.

Language group for 17-year-olds with compulsory education

The group is intended for 17-year-olds who have completed basic education in their country of origin, but whose Finnish language skills are not sufficient for upper secondary studies in Finland. The study period is approximately 1 year.

My own path group

The aim of the studies in the My own path group is to complete basic education with the help of individual support. The group is intended for everyone who has not completed basic education.

The application period for adult basic education is 14.2.–2.4.

Applications for training courses starting in autumn 2025 are made using an electronic form. Suitable applicants are invited to an entrance exam.
